Honey Bee Howdens @ Honey Bee Blues Club

Yellow Arch, 30-36 Burton Rd, Sheffield S3 8BX

“Following their critically acclaimed shows during Tramlines, Sheffields premier psychedelic blues rock band, Downtown Roots, will be tearing up the Honey Bee Blues Club in October. With a stellar array of supports and special guests, this is a gig not to be missed! Remember… knock 3 times and say necessity sent you!” – The Honey Bees Blues Club

I’m writing a short Blues set of looping mayhem for this- on the night it’ll be me, and my daughter April on bass and vocals. All in honour of good friend Mr Martin Bedford who’s night (and birthday) it is! Been friends, and working with Martin for years, on and off, with gigs, Events, recordings, all sorts of shenanigans, and of course the fab artwork and design he provides for all my recent releases. He ‘came over to the dark side’ for me, artwork and image-wise, to depict and illustrate my music. This time I’m heading over to the ‘blues and dirty side’ for him, and really looking forward to playing these songs to a packed house on the night, at the lovely Yellow Arch venue.

Honey Bee Howdens (as we’re calling ourselves) are first on the bill, with a quick and simple set. After our ‘starters’ you’ve got the mains and puddings that are James Taplin & Mick Holmes, Bang bang Romeo and the excellent Downtown Roots. Will be a brilliant night- and guaranteed to sell out, so get tickets fast if you want to be there!
